We get asked this a lot, usually by somebody who has already been through two or three cleaners. Here is the honest list, and most of it has nothing to do with products.
A written list, not a vibe. If a company cannot tell you before the visit what will and will not be touched, the result changes with whoever shows up. Ask for the checklist. Ours is on this page.
A flat quote, not an hourly meter. Hourly pricing rewards slow work and punishes you for a home that needs more attention. Flat pricing by size and scope means the cleaner is trying to finish the list, not fill the clock.
Same team, kept on notes. The second visit should be faster and better than the first, because somebody wrote down that you do not want the good pans in the dishwasher and that the dog gets nervous around the vacuum.
A guarantee with a number on it."We will make it right" is not a policy. Twenty-four hours to report, free re-clean, is.
Insurance, and screening they will talk about. Somebody is in your home alone. Ask. We are an insured and bonded cleaning service and every cleaner is background-checked before their first job.
Studios and one bedrooms are usually a two to three hour standard clean with one cleaner. Two bedroom, two bath is typically three to four. A first deep clean on a home that has not had one in a year or more can run five to six, sometimes with two cleaners so it fits inside one afternoon. We quote flat by home size and scope, and the number you see before you book is the number you pay. Recurring takes 10% to 25% off that, and FIRST10 takes another 10% off a first visit.
One seasonal note thats specific to this neighborhood. Steam heat comes up in October and the radiators start baking dust onto sills, fins and the wall behind them. If you only book one deep clean a year, book it in late October or early November, before the heat has run for three months. The second best window is April, once the windows have been open a few weeks and the street grit from Second and Third Avenue has settled everywhere.
If you are renovating, and half the buildings on these blocks predate 1978, read the EPA's lead-safe guidance before anyone starts wet-wiping surfaces. Dry sweeping plaster dust in an older building is the wrong move, and its a mistake we see homeowners make constantly.

Yes for products. Sprays, solutions, cloths, sponges and paper towels all come with us, and fragrance-free or pet-safe on request at no extra charge.
We do not carry vacuums and mops between homes, because that is how bacteria and, in a bad month, bedbugs travel from one building to another. So we ask that your vacuum, mop and toilet brush are available on the day. If you would rather not, we can bring a Swiffer mop with disposable wet pads instead. Just tell us ahead of time.
Priced flat by home size and scope, not by the hour. A studio or one bedroom standard clean is usually two to three hours with one cleaner; a two bed two bath is three to four; a first deep clean can be five to six. You get the exact number before you book, and it does not move afterwards. FIRST10 takes 10% off a first visit and a recurring plan takes 10% to 25% off every visit after that.
Yes, and we do it daily. We sign in at the front desk, use the service entrance and service elevator where the building requires it, and keep to the hours your co-op or condo allows. If your building needs a certificate of insurance on file before we can come up, tell us the managing agent and we will send it.
Tell us within 24 hours and we come back and re-clean that area at no charge. No debate, no partial credit. It happens rarely, and when it does the fix is the same day or the next.
Often, yes. Call before about 11am and there is usually a same day slot somewhere between 59th and 96th. Same day cleaning service is easier midweek than on a Friday or the day before a holiday, when everybody wants one.
Households with cats, dogs, birds or small children get the pet-safe set by default once they tell us. One rule we never break, and neither should you at home: never mix bleach with ammonia or with an acidic cleaner. It makes a toxic gas, and in a windowless East Side bathroom that is genuinely dangerous.
Every six months for most homes. Every four if you cook most nights, have a radiator under a window, or you are on a low floor facing Second or Third Avenue where street grit gets in. If you are on a bi-weekly plan, you may only ever need one a year.
